08:04.39mmaglisHi. I have issue with pm_suspend. On resume, the system is "frozen". When on xserver nothing works. When on console, login works on another tty but no further commands are possible. The only way to recover the system is a hard reset. This is a laptop on which suspend used to work under Debian stretch. It has been migrated to Devuan ASCII (no fresh install). I would appreciate some pointers to try to fix it. Thanks.
08:05.46Humpelst1lzchenmmaglis: same kernel as stretch? Same configs in /etc/pm?

10:52.42mmaglisHi. I have done some tests on my pm-suspend issue mentioned earlier. The problem seems to be with laptop-mode-tools when on battery power only. The system suspends, but resume seems to not wake up the disk. Nothing is left on the system logs, login seems to work but no further commands are possible once logged in. Hard reset is the only way to take back the system. Any ideas?
10:56.22gnarfaceon ascii?
10:56.37gnarfacei'd check to see if it's a known bug that's been fixed in a more recent kernel
10:56.57mmaglisyes. This is a migrated system from Debian stretch -> Devuan ascii
11:00.23mmaglisgnarface: I will check for bugs and a newer kernel. Is kernel 4.14 from bpo the latest packaged in Devuan?
11:01.40gnarfacei believe so
11:01.44gnarfaceer, more or less
11:02.09gnarfacei don't know if it's identical to the one in ceres bu they're both 4.14
11:02.27gnarfaceer um
11:02.32gnarfaceheh sorry
11:02.42mmagliswhat?
11:02.43gnarfacei just ran apt-get update and it made me a liar; 4.15 is in ceres now
11:03.28mmaglisI run ascii, so I will try the 4.14 one and see if the issue is different or resolved.
11:03.29gnarfacethat must have changed pretty recently
11:04.03mmaglisI will report back soon...

11:15.21gnarfaceyes, i think so

19:14.04gnarfacereber: yes, it has generally all the same packages as debian, if that's what you're asking.  don't mix distros though.  that will break stuff.
19:15.39reberok thx

19:17.45clemens3reber: regarding the partition increase, I always add additional partitiones, or just one bigger, instead.. and then copy stuff with rsync over, edit fstab, .. e.g. home is a good candidate to split off, or usr/local etc.
19:18.18clemens3reber: or if usr gets to big, create another partition just for that and retire the initial 2 GB on the stick..
19:19.02clemens3sounds complicated, but was never really a problem usind fdisk and rsync and vi /etc/fstab..
