15:14.18 | zachary | BT Voyager 205 is a modem/router w/ web based interface. Right? |
15:14.49 | voyager250 | yes |
15:22.45 | zachary | OK. Done some reading. This router shouldn't care what os you are running. Most of the problems I've had with BT is the login name or password not entered correctly: username@exchange.btinternet.com. |
15:25.10 | zachary | According to the manual, what does the blinking light indicate? |

15:45.17 | bt-voyager250 | manual, what manual? |
15:47.01 | zachary | ok, it's been a while since I dealt with BT. Any characters by the light? |
15:49.09 | bt-voyager250 | characters? Two solid green lights are Power and Ethernet. DSL blinks |
15:50.31 | zachary | how did you configure the router? |
15:50.46 | bt-voyager250 | http://192.168.1.1 |
15:55.08 | zachary | It looks like the router is not authenticating with bt. If you can pull up the the routers configuration via web interface, and your default route and dns on the client have the right settings. I would call bt tech support. |
15:56.10 | bt-voyager250 | i did. they do not support linux in any way or form |
15:57.24 | zachary | Don't tell them that, just say you are configuring it with the web based interface. And you just need to confirm settings. |

19:49.25 | George | how many other people don't agree with this gibi/mibi/kibi crap? |
19:49.25 | Leeds | it's typical when I go to these particular friends for Saturday lunch - tend to end up staying rather late... last time I stayed long enough for 'lunch' to include a trip to Ikea in the evening, and dinner :-) |
19:50.22 | Leeds | it's annoying, but I understand the point - and one of the people I just spent the afternoon with is called Miki, which confused me |

19:51.08 | George | well, I think this reversion to giga meaning 10^9 and gibi being 1024^3 sucks |
19:52.32 | Leeds | I think the point is that giga is used by different people to mean different things, while gibi always means 1024^3 |
19:53.12 | George | yeah |
19:53.17 | Leeds | the fact is that giga isn't a reliable prefix to read |

21:17.50 | sash | moz: I've heard that SO19 were in plainclothes. If true, I wouldn't blame a coloured person for running from a gang of armed white thugs. |

21:32.11 | mozrat | I think to effectively "drop" a suicide bomber you need to take them out pretty quickly... leg and torso shots still give them a bit of energy to hit the button so to speak |
