09:01.51theloudspeakerPulkoMandy: what client do you use?
09:02.16PulkoMandyVision, the only native IRC client for Haiku (yes, maybe I'm asking for problems :o) )
09:02.43theloudspeakerI am sure you are.

10:56.47theloudspeaker^ it should have been "/msg nickserv" instead of "msg"
10:57.07theloudspeakerAlso, you just typed your password in a chat. Change it ASAP.
10:58.43PulkoMandy(and that was not a great choice of password anyways)
11:03.55theloudspeakerPulkoMandy you didn't try irssi? Or quassel?
11:04.10theloudspeakerAlso, haiku seems interesting. hmmm.
11:04.15PulkoMandyI'm fine with this setup, except for this minor bug
11:05.27theloudspeakerI use irssi in combination with irssinotifier. Irssi is great on pc and irssinotifier takes care of pings when I am on phone.
11:06.20theloudspeakerAlso, I do have riot for when I am on phone. But most channels i am on on are in irssi.
11:37.51obviyusI tried to get weechat/irssi to work but apparently my university's network only has 80 and 443 allowed
11:37.56obviyusSo I'm using irccloud
11:39.37lesderidPulkoMandy: I looked at the code but it isn't immediately obvious why it does that
11:41.33PulkoMandylesderid: I suspect it's because I use a bouncer (znc), and when I connect to it I get history of what was said, but not of join/part messages. So I guess Vision sees someone talking and assumes they are in the channel, or something like that
11:41.44PulkoMandyanyway, that's getting a bit off-topic for here :)
11:44.28lesderidoh yeah, that's definitely it
11:44.33lesderidand yeah, will take to PM
11:56.53theloudspeakerobviyus I know that pain. My university also had such restrictions. Took us a whole sem to get irc, xmpp and ssh ports opened.
11:57.50theloudspeakerTho i use irssi on an aws machine. Most of my work goes there. I test different operating systems on my own laptop.
11:57.58obviyusIt sucks. I've been trying to get HTTPS tunneling to work
11:58.23obviyusThing is, even VPNs are blocked. And I think they're just reading the headers of the packets to detect the VPN.
11:59.01obviyustheloudspeaker I actually tried to run a ZNC bouncer on AWS but it wouldn't work
11:59.48lesderidthere are TLS multiplexing utilities that work through SNI and stuff
11:59.58PulkoMandytime for some IP-Over-DNS fun!
12:00.09PulkoMandywhich makes me wonder if ip-over-dns-over-http is a doable thing
12:01.25theloudspeakerShouldn't be that hard. We still have many restrictions. Recently they nuked the configs i suppose. Ftp and ssh stopped working. I have wireguard server set up on the aws machine. Almost all other ports are blocked. I use 873 for wireguard. It is rsync one. So unblocked. XD had to play for over an hour to find that port.
12:03.22theloudspeakerZnc's port should be set to 80 or 443 to get working on your university's internet. obviyus
12:04.26obviyusYeah I'll try it soon
