02:20.56x30devHello, I'm trying to download and compile the 2.6 kernel from handhelds.org's cvs. After i download it, and I changed into the kernel26 directoy and do a "make menuconfig", i get error messages about missing file among other things.
02:21.08x30devSuch as, "sys/types.h" is missing
02:21.45x30devi assume this is not the actual full kernel then?
02:48.31x30devhm
02:48.59x30devanyone else run into this?
02:54.22x30devnvm, sorry was working with a new system and forgot to install kernel sources for my actual system

19:27.43paolohi. i want to develop an application for a pda, on GPE (familiar distro). Now, i need a basic info: i know that i have to cross-compile the source on a host system, and this not a problem but... what should I do when i want to test it ? i have to transfer on the real pda or is it preferrable to test on an emulator? if the second choice is better (and i imagine it is) which tool could I use on linux ? thanks for your reply
19:31.04x30devHm, i never did it myself but just did a quick google, http://tuxmobil.org/pda_linux_palm.html#ToC56 came up
19:32.48x30deverm looks like the only one that could be use is a palm-pilot os emu for *nix
19:32.59x30devyou running linux on your pda to?
19:34.46paolox30dev: your link is good for a specific pda
19:36.04paolotheorically, i would use an emulator for different PDAs, but... for now it's not important, perhaps
19:36.25paolox30dev: is palm a good choice for GPE familiar ?
19:37.50x30devpaolo: im not quite sure, sorry. Currently im in the same position as you, im just compiling code and transfering it over to the pda to see if it works
19:38.51paolox30dev: i think this is not the best way.. too much time wasted therefore I'm searching for an emulator
19:40.41paolox30dev: could you try this emulator ? http://code.google.com/p/armware/ . i have installed it, but it crashes when i run the emulation .
19:44.28x30devpaolo:currently i'm developing in vmware and I don't have enough space for the x-window system, sorry. I can test the windows build though
19:45.31paolox30dev: so, you use windows ?
19:46.18paoloi don't use windows... thanks, anyway
19:46.27x30devpaolo:currently yes, but i run linux in vmware for development
19:46.37paolonow I'm trying pose
19:46.48paoloi have just installed it
19:46.56paoloit's  palm emulator
19:47.03x30devalright, sorry i couldn't help out more
19:47.51paolodon't worry. your link was useful and now i'm trying an emulator linked in it
