12:58.24TimoSo, I messed up my whole N9 that I have a broken UI now.  See also http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1313695 . I got the suggestion to use the FIX_MALF mode to get the things right or telnet into the device. I can't find any of those on the mighty Google. Does anybody know how I can repair it? :)

13:03.44TimoOkay, but if I flash the zImage loader and the Initrd, won't my whole OS be replaced?
13:05.01thedead1440why would it? those are the two boot-up stage requirements; your OS is rootfs
13:05.18thedead1440you would only get into open mode; maybe bad for you but desirable for others :D
13:06.19TimoNot bad, it's just good ;)
13:06.29TimoI just don't want to do anything wrong :P
13:07.06TimoI can mess around with my N900, but my N9 is my daily phone so... ;)

13:33.35thedead1440weird; no experience with telnet here; you need juiceme to answer on it :D
13:34.51TimoIt just prompted me if I wanted to connect as mass storage etc. and when I choose SDK mode, telnet tells me "telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused"
13:35.26thedead1440because you are past the stage of moslo
13:35.32thedead1440i think
13:36.29TimoYeah, I'm pretty sure of that, but why does it come past that stage? Shouldn't it keep saying my warranty is void?

13:42.09thedead1440yup or if you want to just mount the partitions anyway, fix malf state does the same thing :)

13:47.18thedead1440once you are all done and want to remove the warranty you can do a dd if of the rootfs and userfs; see: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84659

13:59.19TimoIf that's really the case I'll reflash :P
13:59.55TimoFor an open mode flash, I only have to replace the kernel and rootfs, right? :P
14:00.09Arkenoiis there a way to turn "application not responding" warning off?
14:00.19thedead1440i don't get it why devices don't get detected :S I've done this at least 4 times and no issues at all; yesterday also 2 people on TMO were saying the same thing about no partitions mounted
14:00.45Jonnitime: sometimes detection depends, on what usb port you are using, so switching the port might help too
14:01.36thedead1440Jonni: does it require that no other device be plugged into usb port too? Read that somewhere but I've had both my n9 and n900 plugged in and it still worked
14:01.40*** join/#harmattan trigpoint-phone (~trigpoint@5ada15e4.bb.sky.com)
14:03.05Jonnithedead1440: depends on luck, usually it works better when its connected on the 1st enumeration of the usb device, and also depends on kernel drivers, how they detect mtd modes.
14:03.10TimoI can try it on Windows, though I don't really think that'll make things better
14:04.03TimoI'll try it on my desktop, also Kubuntu 12.04...
14:04.07Jonniwindows cant detect rescue kernel devices, so its quite unlikely that it would help
14:04.36TimoMy desktop is now booting
14:04.59Jonniand usually kubuntu works worse that ubuntu, atleast on my earlier experiments. needs some kernel driver blacklisting etc to get it working
