01:05.10hagabakadoes anyone know of a kicker applet that displays the xdg menu?
01:07.05Lupinop_masho: KDE Control Center -> KDE Components -> Session manager, you can control how sessions are started there.  Then choose "save current session" from the menu when everything is set the way you want.
01:07.40Lupinop_masho: What shell script does it run?
01:07.44p_mashoLupino: I'm in Gnome !! how do I start that COntrol centrre from gnome command line >?
01:08.12Aletheshaha

01:08.45Lupinop_masho: this is #kde, Gnome is not KDE

01:08.53p_mashowell I cant start KDE shite screen of death... and thats my face... and there's no failshafe for KDE on the Ubuntu menu ;-(
01:09.05Lupinop_masho: Btw. don't start kde control center from within gnome unless you really, really want to.  Takes some time to load kde-specific stuff when you're not running kde itself.
01:09.06p_mashoAlethes: :-)
01:09.49Alethes;)
01:09.53hagabakawhat about "don't turn on your computer unless you really, really want to" :p

01:22.24Alethesany issues with feisty before I upgrade?
01:22.24mepistophelesI've googled and it looks like a lot of people have this problem, but no solutions - I get 'unable to resolve hostname' with knode. Pan works fine. And I can ping my newserver fine. (I usually use slrn, but I'm trying the full-tilt KDE thing.) :)
01:22.24BloodyTuxnope, all good
01:22.24p_mashofor some reason. XGL switched my nvidia "TwinView" into Xinerama.. So beryl is working. but its one huge screen..
01:22.24Alethesah
01:22.25p_mashoDOnt think its in the xorg.conf file either.. cos KDE sees 2 monitors..
01:22.34BloodyTuxi like expo markers :P
01:22.35Gentlep_masho: you're mixing up terms there. TwinView is nvidia's generic interface to run one X Server on 2 screens, while xinerama is a library to make programs aware of the screen border, so, your beryl forced yout TwinView to NOT support xinerama
01:22.35p_mashoAlethes: you got Ubuntu or Kubunut.. I had Kubuntu and upgrade to Feisty installed Ubuntu for me ;-) 5 hours of it
01:22.35Gentlep_masho: which is logical, the window manager has to handle xinerama, and Beryl does NOT do it
01:22.35AlethesI started with ubuntu and installed kubuntu-desktop
01:23.13LupinoWell, statistically speaking there is every chance I just broke something totally and utterly now.  If I'm not back in 5 minutes you know better than emerging beryl 2.0.1 in Sabayon :p

01:24.48p_mashotried Xgl :0 ... -xinerama but that didnt work..
01:24.57Gentlep_masho: the windowmanager has to be linked against xinerama headers when compiling, maybe your previous version was compiled for xinerama while your current one isn't?

12:27.17AbnaxosHi! I've got the following setup: TwinView (Xinerama) with two displays, one at 1400x1050, one at 1600x1200. The problem: Starting with Feisty (or KDE 3.5.6? One of both, anyway) the mouse can leave the screen on the display with the smaller resolution. This includes being able to drag windows completely out, so I can't see them anymore.
12:27.26AbnaxosIs that normal/a known issue?
12:29.57*** join/#kde pgquiles__ (n=pgquiles@84.123.101.76.dyn.user.ono.com)
12:31.39AbnaxosI personally won't be that stupid to actually drag a window out of the screen, the problem's just that I can't use the lower corners for frequently used actions or buttons, which is quite annoying. :/
12:32.49Sho_Abnaxos: First of, it's not really a KDE issue but more of an X issue
12:33.31Sho_Abnaxos: Secondly, restricting the cursor to the bounding boxes has been discussed for the new multi-monitoring framework in XRandR 1.2 on the X.org development mailing list, with some code being posted and discussed
12:33.41Sho_Abnaxos: So if anything it'll take a little while longer
