03:40.06jaemI just switched from Kubuntu to Arch Linux, and their respective localprefix'es for KDE are different.  Is there any established way of migrating over, short of just blindly replacing every instance of ".kde" with ".kde4" for all files in said prefix?
03:41.44hdhoang1setting KDEHOME instructs kde to use a particular directory, however I just symlink the uncustomized one to the old one
03:43.18jaemhdhoang1: I'm not sure if we're on the same page... I mean that I left my home directory untouched when doing the distro switch, but copied .kde to .kde4 ahead of time.  Now files in .kde4 contain many references to the old path.  I assume this is going to cause issues.
03:43.44jaemI guess symlinking would fix that, more or less
03:43.47hdhoang1ah true, I misunderstood
03:44.36jaemThen again, IIRC Arch uses .kde for KDE3 apps, and while I don't currently use any, if I ever do, that might end badly.
03:45.40hdhoang1IME the configuration file in share/ doesn't explicitly include $KDEHOME, and other directories look like they are transient between sessions, so I have not noticed problem with moving (which I did before thinking of symlinking)

03:54.07CrellHowever, when I add the googledata and gcal connectors, they always give me a bad password error (after silently sitting there for a while).

04:02.25jaemIf I get a chance tonight, and you're still around, I'll try to let you know how it goes.
04:02.29CrellI had it kinda sorta working, at least for reading, under Kubuntu.
04:02.50CrellI switched to Suse tonight because Kubuntu kept sucking, and akonadi is working even less now than it did before. :-(

14:36.54sxehey guys, i noticed a strange behaviour in the plasma desktop panel/Task Manager Applet/Magic Lamp Animation. When aligned to the button of the screen (the default position) or the top you can minimize gtk application (like firefox) as every other app too but if you align the panel to the left side and minimize a gtk app the maximize/minimize animation seems to be broken. it fade away to the other side but looks really strange :)
