17:08.47johnny69Hi kde folks.   Got a somewhat of an unusual question here  It's kinda sorta related to Kde since that is what I am using and therein i *think* is where the problem lies.  Have a process running...In this case it's GCC compiling something.  It maxes out the cpu completely.  So I change the priority to as low as it will go and even set the file read/write priority to "idle".  I still end up with a 100% cpu load that normally would be hove
17:08.47johnny69or 2%.   What else can I do?  Any ideas?  (Kde 4.7.x)  Thank you.
17:09.23Abhishit-s_home: I saw the e-mail this morning. I pulled the code in via kdevelop.
17:09.37it-s_homeI use Qt Creator
17:09.59it-s_homeAbhish: the project is done in there initially, so I think it's better to use that
17:10.16Abhishit-s_home: I'm used to KDevelop. Its the only one that really apealed to me so that I bothered learning. I like Kate pretty well though.

17:10.45Abhishit-s_home: Now, we are supposed to work on the interface right?

17:11.55johnny69pinotree:   More or less idle yeah.  I checked it using Ksysguard and there is no other processs eating up the cpu.  I've seen other things do this from time to time as well.  For instance running something under Wine.
17:12.06Abhishit-s_home: We need to compile before writing the interface?
17:12.32pinotreejohnny69: if a process wants to use the cpu and there's nothing else using it, it will use it of course

17:13.52it-s_homeAbhish: it's the backbone of the whole thing :P
17:13.55it-s_homeAbhish: true
17:14.42pinotreejohnny69: priority 19 does not mean "do not use the cpu at all", it means "be more nice as possible to the other processes; but if there are no other processes that request the cpu, there's noone else the process should be "nice to"
17:14.58pinotreeif you don't want a process to run, stop it
