I seem to remember seeing an option for this in gnome somewhere so I assume this is possible?

19:58.22Ellipsis753Mogger, While I've got a nice theme installed now things still look kind of retro. The scroll bars are boxy and the menu bars are a darkgray, the buttons on websites are also very gray and boxy. It's all fine and good but it looks a bit like windows 98 or something. I'm sure it could look better and I remember changing it before on gnome.

22:25.09arcfideHey everyone.
22:25.15yecril71plGiven $app from KDE, The output of { $app --version; } is incompatible with GNU help2man
22:25.17arcfideI wonder if someone can help me with a bit of an issue I am having with Konsole.
22:25.38arcfideSpecifically, I'm trying to use my TTF font with Konsole, but it doesn't display in the font list.
22:25.49arcfideRunning fc-list shows the font there, and I can see the font when I use xfontsel.
22:26.03_kdepepoarcfide, then the font doesn't advertise itself as mono spaced.
22:26.05arcfideSearching around shows some people who have this problem, but only with bitmap fonts, and not with TTF fonts.
22:26.37arcfide_kdepepo: It maps to the -m- spacing spec in the X font spec.
22:27.01arcfide_kdepepo: Outside of that, is there a way to get Konsole to use it without it needing to recognize it as a monospaced font?

22:28.28arcfide_kdepepo: I found the profile file, but I'm a bit confused by the font syntax.

22:30.45_kdepepoCueball, I simply use mplayer
22:31.11_kdepepoWorks only for sound notifications, though, so if you want to use e.g. Amarok, you have to use Phonon.

22:33.13Cueball_kdepepo: I thought phonon was the KDE sound manager and things like mplayer, vlc, xine, etc were the backends.
22:33.50_kdepepoyou can configure knotify to play via a shell command, then it doesn't need phonon.
