08:20.36saedelaerehi, i deactivated nepomuk and akonadi to reduce memory usage and because I don't these features. now I remember to I have deactivated one more thing. It was something like the start menu (k-menu) to quick access applications and settings. I think it was made like a dropdown box and it must be part of a base installation of kde. stopping this service did significantly reduce memory usage but I can't remember the name. Anyone an idea what I mean?
08:21.02Sho_saedelaere: krunner
08:21.31vHandaSho_: you can deactivate krunner?
08:22.12Sho_vHanda: I suppose you could disable it from autostart at least ...
08:22.23Sho_vHanda: but his description sounds like krunner, don't you agree?
08:23.02vHandayeah. It kinda does.
08:23.24vHandathough it would be easier for him to just deactivate all the runners instead of killing krunner
08:23.25Sho_vHanda: unless he has a  time machine and uses nepomuk finder
08:23.45Sho_i agree, my next step was to point out krunner has lots of plugins and it would be worth narrowing down the mem hog
08:23.58vHandathat way he can still do "Ctrl + Esc" to bring up the task manager
