23:16.01 | ob_ | [kde5 on nixos] why are some applications not styled with the default kde theme? |
23:16.18 | ob_ | hexchat and geany for example |
23:16.27 | Dattorz | hexchat and geany are GTK+ apps |
23:16.34 | Dattorz | You need to find a matching GTK+ theme |
23:16.45 | ob_ | ah ok, thanks Dattorz |
23:16.52 | Dattorz | There are a couple ports of the Breeze theme to GTK 2/3 |
23:17.19 | ob_ | the system settings GTK menu shows Breeze (same as kde5 theme) |
23:17.24 | ob_ | but its not styled the same |
23:18.20 | Dattorz | I recall something about the GTK3 theme not working correctly. I switched to a different Breeze GTK3 theme and that worked |
23:18.38 | ob_ | will try |
23:18.44 | Dattorz | Apparently at some point GTK3 broke their theme compatibility so now you have themes that only work up to a certain version of GTK3 |
