07:31.47CasperHas anyone hear of a problem where the content of a window freeze and flash back and forth between two state of that window? ex, firefox, I was highlighting when it froze, it flashed with and without the highlight... At that point if I switch window and come back I get the new window update, but still frozen. Like I can scroll down and nothing happend, alt tab out and in and it is at the new place. Only way
07:31.47Casperto fix it so far is to restart the application. It started after a kde update... which I lost all my settings too...

13:51.57Ashl1Hello, guys. Have you encountered a problem with the sound configuration drop after plug-out and plug-in headphones?
13:53.45*** join/#kde jasonwert (~w3rt@75-134-81-98.static.aldl.mi.charter.com)
13:54.37sspencerAshl1: No issues here.
13:58.51Ashl1So you config keeps the same (for example, stereo duplex) regardless of plugs? I experienced the problem on Kubuntu 16.04. LTS that config for one of two (internal sound card) always reset to (IEC 598 + analog stereo input) each time I plug-in the headphones on front panel
14:00.57sspencerAshl1: Yes. Everything stays set the way I have it configured.
14:01.39Ashl1Could you help me understand does this depend on Pulseaudio, distro or smth else?
14:02.20sspencerAshl1: That I'm not sure about.

14:23.20hyperfektHello everyone! I'm a new user to Plasma 5.7 on Fedora and my application launcher icon becomes ginormous when I align my taskbar to a vertical edge and increase the width so I can read window titles. Is there any way to make it smaller? Searches haven't brought anything up, though it might be an issue of terminology. Thanks for the help!
14:25.57toskyhyperfekt: on Fedora I would suggest to upgrade first, Fedora 24 has Plasma 5.8.x
14:26.01toskyand Fedora 25 too
14:27.35hyperfekttosky: I'd like to, but I'm kinda stuck since I'm using Qubes OS for which the newer Fedora versions aren't adapted yet :/ Would that fix the problem?
14:29.16toskyhyperfekt: uhm, let me try
14:31.23toskyhyperfekt: the icons are big indeed in that case, but I'm not sure how to solve it
14:31.28toskyyou can create two panels, though
14:31.45tosky(I tried on an updated Fedora 25, Plasma 5.8.5)

14:33.25hyperfekttosky: Oh nice, I must've missed that! Thanks. You mean one small and one large panel?
14:33.49hyperfektOr splitting them horizontally?
14:34.10toskyyou can try both - until you find what you find better
14:35.25hyperfekttosky: So I suppose there isn't a neat config to edit for this? ^^
14:35.50toskyehm, no, just move panels around :)
14:37.08J4nsenI have a "high" dpi monitor on my left side (about 200dpi), right to it are two normal fullhd monitors. when I open the kmenu on the fullhd monitors, then there is a space between the panel and the kmenu. on the highdpi monitor everything is fine. any ideas?
14:37.30hyperfekttosky: Oh, I meant for the icon size. Or is there any place you could point me to to look further?
14:37.58toskyhyperfekt: icon size is tied to the panel size iirc
14:38.27J4nsenthat also happens with other widgets (calendar, volume, etc)
14:39.32hyperfektIs that entirely intentional (wontfix) or a place for improvement?
14:39.46toskyI'm not in the development of Plasma
14:39.50toskyI don't know
14:40.53hyperfekttosky: Reasonable ^^ I'll try what you suggested and see if I can find an acceptable solution :)
14:41.46J4nsenhttp://imgur.com/a/wzlVl here is a picture
14:42.37hyperfektOh, I just had a revelation: Just remove it entirely and use the keyboard! Problems always seem to solve themselves when you talk about them to others. Can't believe I didn't think of it before.

18:01.06smusicHello guys
18:01.17smusicAm I allowed to ask questions on this channel?
18:01.31smusicI am having issues with ksshaskpass
18:01.38BluesKaj!ask
18:01.51smusicIs that some sort of a command?
18:03.12smusic!ask Why wouldn't ksshaskpass start when I do ssh user@server.com from the terminal?
18:05.27rdietersmusic: what does this say?  echo $SSH_ASKPASS
18:05.38rdieterif it doesn't point to ksshaskpass, that is why
18:06.01*** join/#kde pualj_ (~pualj@41.68.17.82)
18:06.21smusicAt the moment, it says nothing. I've tried setting that to /usr/bin/ksshaskpass and the same thing happens. I've checked, /usr/bin/ssh-askpass is a symlink to ksshaskpass.
18:06.50smusicBy the way, I've set it in /etc/profile

18:08.05rdieterif you set it, but it's not getting defined, then something is wrong somewhere
18:08.30rdietersmusic: fwiw, this isn't a kde issue (based on evidence so far)
18:09.11smusicrdieter: Actually, even if I set it directly from the terminal, I still get the regular input in the terminal.
18:09.13rdietersmusic: try, export SSH_ASKPASS=/usr/bin/ksshaskpass , then does running ssh work as expected then?
18:09.39rdietersmusic: ok, may have to ask a openssh support channel then
18:09.46smusicrdieter: Still nothing. It's been like this since I've installed the system (KDE neon)
18:10.02rdietertry running by hand: ksshaskpass ?
18:10.12rdieterdo you get a prompt?
18:10.18smusicYeah, I've tried that too and that does work.
18:10.22rdieterok, wierd
18:10.34smusicI've even tried echoing the output of the command and I do see what I've entered.
18:11.33smusicI don't know if that means anything, but I can use update-alternatives to change that ssh-askpass symlink. It is set to ksshaskpass though.
18:12.40rdieterignore the symlink for now, SSH_ASKPASS environment should work by itself

23:52.24timofonic1KMail takes a lot to download the emails and it seems like the connection get interrupted a lot. I don't know how to fix it
23:52.27timofonic1Any idea?
23:52.52timofonic1I also can't see the downloaded emails, it's weird
23:54.03Basstard`Only use KMail if you are ready to report endless bugs.
23:54.23asturmtimofonic1: what version of kmail is it?
23:55.52asturmtimofonic1: I'm asking because the performance of fetching mail had been particularly improved in latest versions
23:56.37troffaskytimofonic, yeah i got the can't-see-emails-yet thing too but it worked once it was done importing
23:56.38timofonic1KMail 5.4.2
23:57.02asturmtimofonic1: ok, that's the best you can have atm
23:57.33timofonic1troffasky: But I'm importing 156.184 emails from Gmail. I want all them in local, but it's annoying to wait until it finishes
23:58.15timofonic113,8GB of emails it seems, as my drive stuff is mostly empty
23:58.47timofonic1The number of emails in inbox appears stalled, the number not changes
