19:03.09 | eldergunn | hi all please could i have any android testing links please!! |
19:03.29 | eldergunn | like http://www.ldsmobiletester.com/android/gl/ci/gl-20120601-1603-2.2.0.14-SNAPSHOT-z.apk |
19:04.16 | eldergunn | i am making a google doc and will then be updating it when a new link comes out |
19:13.19 | eldergunn | is there any android testing links out there like http://www.ldsmobiletester.com/android/gl/ci/gl-20120601-1603-2.2.0.14-SNAPSHOT-z.apk |
19:15.42 | TimRiker | http://www.ldsmobiletester.com/android/ |
19:16.53 | eldergunn | which link is for testing though so for being a pain |
19:17.54 | TimRiker | the release/ directories have releases in them. etc. |
19:20.25 | TimRiker | which download do you want? starting from android/ lets you pick a product, and then pick a version. either release or current build. those files are links to the actual build, so you might get a different version next time you download. |
19:20.47 | TimRiker | ie: http://www.ldsmobiletester.com/android/gl/gl-latest-build.apk should always get the latest build, no matter the version. |
19:21.40 | TimRiker | Is there a reason why you don't want to use the "latest-build" links? that's what testers should normally use. |
19:21.52 | eldergunn | ok thanks |
19:22.09 | eldergunn | normally i use that |
19:22.16 | TimRiker | putting specific versions in a document does not sounds like a Good Idea to me. any doc you create will be out of date tomorrow. |
19:22.56 | eldergunn | ok i wont do that |
19:53.08 | scgallafent | tdeforest, do you remember the name of the web server install that someone introduced to us at the conference? |
19:55.03 | smootar | I wasn't there. I'm guessing it was xampp? |
19:56.50 | scgallafent | No. Something other than xampp that was a cleaner install. |
19:57.11 | scgallafent | I thought there was a note in the readme. |
19:58.18 | smootar | Was it Sami? http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Servers/WEB-Servers/Sami-HTTP-Server.shtml |
19:58.29 | scgallafent | No. Something Server. |
19:59.39 | smootar | Any on this list? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_lightweight_web_servers |
20:00.01 | scgallafent | Found it. Uniform Server. |

20:02.45 | tdeforest | scgallafent, that doesn't sound familiar |

20:54.10 | tdeforest | correcty |
20:54.12 | scgallafent | Checking file .... |
20:54.37 | scgallafent | Is RewriteBase in /swarm/.htaccess set to /swarm/web/ ? |
20:55.33 | johnsonth | tdeforest, I wouldn't consider that spam, since it sounds like an entrepreneurial byu student trying to get links to his site. I would just ignore it. |
20:55.44 | scgallafent | Probably should have prefixed that with tdeforest to ring your bell. |
20:56.22 | tdeforest | scgallafent, rewrite base is not set see http://d.pr/n/kET |
20:56.30 | tdeforest | johnsonth, sounds good |
20:56.47 | scgallafent | Not set in /swarm/web, I'm looking at /swarm/.htaccess -- no web. |
20:57.03 | tdeforest | johnsonth, so if it isn't spam and it's asking for links, what is it? |
20:57.28 | tdeforest | swarm/.htaccess is not set - there is none |
20:57.39 | johnsonth | it may be sleezy, but not spam. |
20:57.45 | scgallafent | OK. That answers my question. Thank you, kind sir. |
20:58.17 | tdeforest | johnsonth, :) |
20:58.27 | scgallafent | I'm working with garyp, who was in our meeting yesterday. Say hi, garyp. |

20:59.13 | johnsonth | tdeforest, re documentation for setup, is that help material for QA project managers? |
20:59.16 | garyp | Hello...to you! |
20:59.19 | johnsonth | because I am working on that. |
20:59.52 | johnsonth | swarm is literally the most useful tool I have seen for community crowdsourcing pretty much ever. i am really excited by the results so far. |
21:00.48 | scgallafent | smootar, garyp and I are making progress. I'm about to take the fire hose out of his mouth and let him go to work. |
21:01.02 | scgallafent | We're also learning the ropes of IRC. |
21:02.42 | tdeforest | johnsonth, no this is documentation for devs installing swarm on their local machine |
21:03.10 | johnsonth | tdeforest, thanks for clarifying. |
21:03.13 | tdeforest | johnsonth, glad to hear it is working so well for you! be sure to let kfitz know |
21:04.28 | tdeforest | scgallafent, it might be advisable to remove the .htaccess-example from the root swarm directory |
21:04.37 | tdeforest | to avoid confusion |
21:04.51 | scgallafent | OK. I'll add a comment to your JIRA item. |
21:08.29 | johnsonth | scgallafent and timriker, I know I was advocating earlier today that the first person to fail an item shouldn't be bombarded with comments for all subsequent failures of that item. There is one upside to this, however. When the item gets fixed, it's rewarding for the volunteer to know that an item he or she flagged as broken was then fixed. That might compensate for the JIRA spam-like messages in their inbox. |
