15:42.33Psykusanyone know what the carrier compatibility is like for the n900 is in the US?
15:45.38Psykusi was looking for any other new similar phones, this keyboard is sexy as hell but the phone isn't sold or made for the US https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2028347278/tohkbd-the-other-half-keyboard-for-your-jolla
15:49.14ZetaRPsykus: There is a table on http://neo900.org/faq and there are some links under it. The forum thread linked to discusses it. I personally got the PLS8-US, but if you are traveling or moving outside the US you would want to look at the other modems too.
15:49.29ZetaROops, you said the N900. That is the Neo900.
15:52.09*** join/#neo900 freemangordon (~ivo@46.249.74.23)
15:52.23ZetaRI'm not sure about the N900 but 2G works with my N900 with AT&T.
15:52.57Psykusyeah I might pick up the neo900 once it's closer to full production
15:54.41ZetaRPsykus: The preorders of the Neo900 are important for the project to know how many phones to manufacture. If you wait until it is being produced you may not be guaranteed a phone.
15:55.04Psykusahh
15:56.19ZetaRThe project doesn't have the funding to produce significantly more phones than are actually ordered.
16:01.34Psykusyeah this might not be for me unless I come into a lot of money but will watch with interest. severe lack of any up to date keyboarded phones these days
16:02.17Psykusup to date and hackable/at least unlocked bootloaders

16:03.25paulkok so we're still waiting for the shuttle
16:03.46paulkdo you have any idea what's going on with the shuttle
16:04.40paulkshould have been there half an hour ago
16:04.45paulkany help welcome :)
16:05.03ZetaRYeah, unfortunately making small runs of miniaturized boards is quite expensive. I personally intend to use my Neo900 for at least 10 years, if not more. If you make regular phone purchases then the price for  a long-term product is quite comparable.
16:07.12ZetaRAlso, the devs have stated that they will be using durable/automotive components wherever possible to try and extend the lifespan of the Neo900.
16:09.35Psykusthat's promising

18:16.45Arch-TKMy APC UPS and Nokia N900 both came in the mail today.
18:19.57Arch-TKIt appears that it maybe works.
18:20.45Arch-TKIt was second hand on ebay and came with no charger etc...
18:20.51Arch-TKOnly £40
18:25.35Arch-TKYep... It works... And I'm liking it already.
18:32.27Arch-TKSomeone forgot to wipe this...

18:56.53Arch-TKdrathir: I need to pull out my soldering station and solder down the USB connector.
18:57.15Arch-TKI looked around and it seems to be a common point of failure.
18:58.59drathirArch-TK: mine still not fixed ;/
18:59.33drathirArch-TK: its the only thing i guess which broken for sure with time...
18:59.41drathirno matter what...

19:00.51Arch-TKI do like a "proper" keyboard.
19:01.17Arch-TKEven three rows seems better than those darned "touch keyboards"
19:05.26ZetaRArch-TK: I have also seen recommended to file the tabs off of the USB charger's connector.
19:05.47ZetaRI did that and soldered my connector.

19:56.53enycZetaR: its' possible (but a pain!) to fix the usb even when the pads ripped off the board =)
19:57.16enycZetaR: connecting wires to else where on the PCB etc...
20:06.45Arch-TKenyc: with plenty of patience and some thin copper wire... anything is possible
20:07.10Arch-TK(and a steady hand)

21:45.45infobothmm... usbfix is http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=75920 - and **NEVER** use epoxy (unless you want to seal your device for underwater), or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYz5nIHH0iY#t=1866, you will basically need two irons: a small good one (or better hot-air reflow) and a 60+ Watt
