13:59.48ben22I am having problems getting gconf-dbus_svn.bb compiled for a gumstix device. The process fails with 'No rule to make target install'. I cannot find any reference to the problem elsewhere. Is there a workaround I can use?

14:31.18ben22PaulePanter, I am using the gconf-dbus_svn.bb recipe included in the com.gumstix.collection. Could I copy the _cvs.bb recipe over the original and try that?
14:36.20PaulePanterI do not know of any CVS recipes.
14:36.48PaulePanterI guess you need to contact the Gumstix folks, since I do not know it.
14:37.08PaulePanterBut you could try to use the recipe from OE classic.
14:41.23ben22Thanks. Could you possibly provide a command for just checking out that particular recipe?

14:59.01ben22I have moved the new gconf-dbus_svn.bb over the old one, and issued bitbake -c clean, and bitbake -c build, but it does not seem to have fixed the problem.
15:03.35PaulePanterben22: Then I am sorry, I cannot help you. Maybe it is a parallel build issue?
15:04.05PaulePanterAnyway please contact the Gumstix list to get help of developers not on IRC.

15:12.31ben22PaulePanter, with your help I have managed to fix the problem. Thank you.
15:13.57woglindePaulePanter why the hell all this mediaprograms like xmbc and geexbox needs there own ditstribution building system

15:17.29PaulePanterben22: What was the problem?
15:17.43PaulePanterwoglinde: I do not know. Do you mean OpenELEC?
15:18.42PaulePanterThe GeeXboX folks had some reasoning for developing OpenBricks <http://openbricks.org>.
15:19.08ben22PaulePanter, I have no idea. I downloaded the new source file and renamed it as the old one. The build completed and I am now able to continue with gumstix-basic-image
15:20.40ben22I have no idea why a console-only recipe is pulling in gnome packages, I can only hope it will end up as an optional .ipk
15:21.26PaulePanterben22: Please report that to the Gumstix folks so they can fix it.
15:21.48ben22I will leave a message on IRC for them
15:22.06PaulePanterwoglinde: GeeXboX wanted to use a KConfig based system I think.
15:22.50PaulePanterOpenELEC forked from the former GeeXboX build system and at LinuxTag told me he is used to it.
15:23.35PaulePanterStefan Raue said to be willing to
15:23.46PaulePanters/Stefan/Stephan/
15:24.01PaulePanter… to use something else.
15:24.48PaulePanterUnfortunately the timing has not been perfect. Actually now that Intel is doing some more x86 work(?) with OE it would be a good base for OpenELEC.tv.
15:25.37PaulePanterSo it is as always in the free software world that everybody things to have better ideas/features and starts from scratch.

15:28.58PaulePanterHaving an OE based live system for a media center with XBMC would draw quite a lot of users (and developers) to OE.

19:56.41ao2RP_, git-daemon on git.o-hand.com looks down, oe-core has the qemugl_git.bb recipe fialing on do_fetch because of that. I've been told that the plan is to use qemugl from meego anyways but for the time being maybe it it worth to make the recipe still build. I worked around the failure wgetting from http://autobuilder.pokylinux.org/sources/git2/git.o-hand.com.qemugl.git/ and making the recipe clone from the filesystem.
