23:14.40kan0kismet isnt for net connections, it is to discover various types of wifi hardware.

23:15.53kan0you will need to check that the card had is recognised by zaurus, you may need to change files in /etc/pcmcia/*

23:24.51kan0if you plugged in the card recently, you should have some info from the pcmcia drivers/daemons

23:25.29PlsHelpthe above came up in the codes...i thought i beeter furnish u with this info
23:26.18kan0at a guess, the card needs 5v, but the zaurus can only supply 3.3v or it is configed up at 3.3v
23:27.46PlsHelpyes...i guessed as much, but does that mean i cant use the card in Z? coz the adapter i bought from semsons' clearly says that orinoco gold pc cards are compatible....
23:27.55PlsHelp:(
23:28.26kan0compatible yes, in a device that can do 5v
23:29.59PlsHelphttp://www.semsons.com/comflastopcc.html

23:30.57kan0did you read the bit marked with "***Warning***"?
23:31.58PlsHelpyes ,i idi...pls click on compatibilty list at the bottom of page...u will understand what i mean
23:32.41kan0yeah, but what I mean is that in devices that provide 5V rails, the Orinoco will work and is compatible
23:34.12kan0you can check by getting a pcmcia->CF adaptor and plugging your adaptor in, although it will look horrid :)
23:34.27PlsHelpoic, coz cf slots are industry standard 3.3v. and the adapter is INTENDED for pda cf slot use,so it should also mean that..the disclaimer is misleading? isnt it?

23:45.22PlsHelpjust trying all options i have?what do u think?
23:46.20kan0cant reduce the card, you may be able to introduce an extra power supply, but you would have to open the adaptor and solder in the power. but that would only work if the 3.3v/5v rail isnt switchable/shared, else you will end up making lots of black smoke
23:47.05kan0although you could break the power line back to the z, but then if you plug a 3.3 device in, you will wont know untill you feed it and blow it up
