00:05.13blueyGood night. Did anyone of you with 5X00 have problems when there's stuff installed on SD?
00:05.42CoreDump|homeproblems?
00:06.08blueyBattery percentage (apm?) isn't showed, apps not running, applets going crazy, and then on suspend the Z gets stuck...
00:06.31CoreDump|homeworks on a 5500 for me
00:06.50blueyLooks like something to do with IPC of qpe, could that be?
00:07.03CoreDump|homei dunno
00:07.26nrktki have no problem with stuff installed on sd, SL550 here.
00:07.29CoreDump|homeipkg-link mount /mnt/card and try again w/o rebooting
00:07.45blueyThe Z dies (hangs) when I suspend it
00:07.56blueyand I noticed that something went wrong
00:08.01blueybecause the battery applet
00:08.14blueygoes from percentage to the old Good, etc, status
00:08.26CoreDump|homeremove opie-wirelessapplet if you have it installed
00:08.48blueyDoes it have to do with wifi applet?
00:09.18CoreDump|homeopie-wirelessapplet is known to cause resume hangs
00:09.59blueyHmmm I usually install it after a flash, could be it
00:10.09blueyThank you for the tip! ;-D
00:10.20CoreDump|home:)
00:10.26blueyDid any of you noticed a memory leak on package manager?
00:11.06blueyIt goes to the point of killing qpe
00:11.27overflowUKyes it kills gpe
00:11.36overflowUKaswell
00:11.47blueyis it ipkg, then?
00:11.51overflowUKyes
00:11.57overflowUKworks fine
00:12.05overflowUKfrom prompt only
00:12.13overflowUKim happy!
00:12.39blueyI like the prompt too ;)
00:13.20overflowUKget to see whats happenin
00:13.36blueyIs packagemanager being used because of smaller size and less lib dependency than apqkg?
00:13.52overflowUKyes i so
00:14.38CoreDump|homebluey: aqpkg is still more stable than packagemanager
00:15.34blueyCoreDump|home: I noticed that, when trying to see if that memory eating problem would happen with aqpkg
00:15.47bluey:)

05:03.22lfmhi there - I can't find vcard-import on my poodle / 3.5.1 / gpe. Has vcard-import been replaced or is just missing ?
05:03.43lfmI just have vcard-dump and vcard-normalize

05:27.04lfmhi there - I can't find vcard-import on my poodle / 3.5.1 / gpe. Has vcard-import been replaced or is just missing ?
05:27.52lfmgpe-sync doesn't seem to work...Is anyone syncing gpe with linux ?
06:25.19zed_homelfm: I can sync with 3.51 using the openssh ipks available in updates in the 3.51 directory...u also need multisync with the opie plugin on ur desktop & u need to have set up passwordless dsa or rsa ssh keys on both Z & desktop
06:25.38zed_homeahhhhh
06:25.41zed_homewhoops
06:25.52zed_homeI'm using opie
06:25.54zed_home:(
06:25.55zed_homesorry
06:26.30lfmzed_home : thanx
06:26.32lfm:)
06:26.39zed_homenp
06:26.45lfmI just switch to opie again....
06:27.00zed_homevia a reflash, or r u using both?
06:27.06lfmreflash
06:27.24lfmjust changing the initrd on the CF
06:27.24zed_home(I've tried running both but haven't succeeded)
06:28.16lfmI actually like GPE better - it seems more stable overall than opie.
06:28.27lfmbut it looks week on the PIM side
06:30.12zed_homeyeah, I tend to need PIM apps (use for work) & multisync & opie seem to do a v good job there
06:30.46lfmdamned... I just installed opie and it froze
06:30.53lfmon the logout
06:30.56zed_home:(
06:31.55lfmtried to export the display to the laptop and run and app - just like on GPE but it seems like it won't work
06:32.50zed_homenope, guess that won't work cos opie isn't X........but u say it works under gpe...that's very useful
06:33.02lfmit does
06:33.06lfmGPE rocks
06:33.32lfmonce I get sync working bye bye opie
06:33.37zed_homecool.....my ultimate aim is to be able to have both opie & gpe working so best of both worlds
06:33.51lfmactually.... I am going to reflash gpe again
06:33.57zed_home:)
06:34.09lfmjajajaj
06:34.14lfm:)
06:34.17zed_homelol
06:34.42Com[Plexanyone had any luck getting vncserver running on 3.5.1?
06:35.00lfmyes...I loved the fact of having the X server on the zaurus.
06:37.24zed_homelfm: gpe runs an xserver, so have you mainly used it with remote display on lappy rather than using vnc itself?
06:37.42lfmyep
06:37.59lfmopen the gpe-contacts, gpe-calendar, etc...
06:38.04lfmit's really nice
06:38.11zed_homethat seems far more efficient than having to run vnc....sounds great
06:38.18lfmabsolutely
06:38.21lfmway faster
06:38.45zed_homehmmm...but opie apps won't run under gpe presumably....
06:38.57lfmnope
06:39.04zed_home(I use hancomsheet & opera a lot - along with compat libs)
06:39.28lfmoops... then you might be in trouble
06:40.05lfmbut being an X server, I believe compiling soft shouldn't be that bad on GPE
06:40.07zed_homeyeah....my soln would to be able to run both opie & gpe I guess (as I said above)
06:40.36lfmgpe-image.rootfs.img                            7%  904KB 301.0KB/s   00:38 ETA
06:40.39zed_homehmm, re compiling, don't think hancom have released source
06:40.40lfm:)
06:40.49lfmnot for that one
06:41.33zed_homeahh well, dual init5's 4 me then (one day!)
06:41.48zed_homedual = lzy way of saying hving both
06:42.25lfmbut look at the feeds... they have thunderbird and other cool stuff ready .
06:45.09lfmFlash erasing..... 2 minutes to be back with GPE. short stay with opie....
06:46.01zed_homeI just need to have 1)Good sync 2)spreadsheet which exports as .xls 3)Good browser
06:46.27zed_homeLooks like 3) is satisfied...just 1) & 2) keep me using opie atm
06:46.35lfmthen you're better off with opien at this time.
06:46.43zed_homeyeah
06:46.50zed_home.......all a matter of time :P
06:47.14zed_homeit's amazing how 3.51 has breathed new life into my collie i must say
06:47.15lfm:) My time was < 30 minutes with opie ...
06:47.20zed_homelol
06:49.05lfmI might get a perl based app off the net or something pretty simple to convert my evolution vcf and pass all the contacts to the Z
06:50.05zed_homeso once that's done, will u be able to use sync, or is that not working yet
06:50.06zed_home?
06:52.10lfmNo - I'm talking about having something simple - even console based - until I get gpe-sync wokring with evo
06:52.19zed_homeahh, ok
06:53.07lfmTHere are reports on gpe.handhelds.org that is working... not for me though
06:53.33zed_homei used to do that with kontact & kdepim ..but evolution syncing is much better obviously, so I moved away from using kdepim in the end to the stnd opie pim apps
