12:29.48zxql3oooI have googled, read and experimented for the last few days to get my Eagletec WLAN card working on my Zaurus SL5500, but to no avail. I'm about to give up, but I was hoping someone can help me look if I did everything right
12:31.01zxql3oooUnder 3.5.4 I couldn't even find the hostap_cs.conf file, so I went back to 3.5.3. I have added my card but I get no sign of life from it whatsoever
12:44.28zxql3oooany help would be appreciated :( I definately RTFM and would've accepted it just won't work, but there's this one single post on the oesf.org forums where an anonymous user reports this card (EagleTec 802.11b ET-CWB1000) to be working with his Zaurus SL5500 running OpenZaurus
12:58.02TheFoolhaven't much experience with this but I know my card required the downloading and installing of prism3 drivers
13:00.58zxql3ooothanks, I have read about that and tried that in 3.5.4, but not in 3.5.3 yet. I will give this a shot (before trying the Sharp default OS again to see what this does)

13:12.49TheFoollol, I have been having a heck of a time getting my SanDisk WiFi to work, sharp rom doesn't even see it. OZ sees it and doesn't identify it. After installing drivers it works fine...for a while, and then it is not reckognized again. It's driving me insane.
13:14.48zxql3oooI feel your pain... I would've already dumped my Eagletec card and tried another one, but I just can't find any CF wlan cards for sale here in the Netherlands! Not online, not in shops... it's like the most obscure computer part around :(

22:17.45CoreDump|homeagaffney: most likely the reason is an SD card which does not like to be formatted ext2.
22:18.12CoreDump|home99.995% of problems are caused by crappy SD cards
22:18.21agaffneyCoreDump|home: well, I was able to do the process manually with my laptop and it boots just fine and runs great

22:19.19agaffneythere seems to be someone in here every week or so hitting the same thing
22:19.44agaffneyiirc, it's a failed ioctl mounting the newly created loopback image
22:19.47agaffneyit still works though
22:19.57Oberok that did not work
22:19.59agaffneyand then when it boots into that, a bunch of missing files and I/O errors
22:20.15agaffneybut I create the loopback and extract the rootfs from my linux laptop, it works great
22:20.28agaffneyaltboot loads it up and it boots without problems
22:20.49agaffneyI'd try to reproduce it right now, but I don't have the card reader to re-fix it :)
