15:46.41hrwI support OZ and Angstrom
15:47.15summatusmentishrw, ok, I made an assumption because you were in the #cacko channel, sorry
15:47.39hrwI'm also in #zaurus #nslu2-linux #openmoko and few others
15:48.04summatusmentisopenembedded based projects?'
15:48.22hrwnot #zaurus but others yes
15:48.30summatusmentisah, ok
15:48.32Webosorry, i was trying to find it out
15:48.33summatusmentissorry about that
15:48.36Weborustre
15:48.44Weboit seems to attach it to strange device
15:48.51Webo(im rebooting, hold on a sec)
15:49.00Weborustre, thanx for the advice
15:49.10Webo;)
15:49.29Weboas far as i know, oz is the most usable and mature distro
15:49.33Weboi might be wrong
15:49.34Webo;P
15:49.53hrw;)
15:50.04summatusmentisWebo, that's what I've seen, granted, I haven't tried anything else except Sharp
15:50.27summatusmentisbut that's because the only other one that supports the 5500 that I know of is hentges, which is OZ based
15:50.38hrwOZ is developed by some people, pdaX is stalled by fact that there is only one devel which has problems with cooperating
15:51.10Webosharp's rom sucks in such a way...
15:51.30hrwand sharprom clones are hard to be defined as distros because they are mostly collections of sharprom packages
15:51.43summatusmentishrw, does Angstrom have a release date?
15:51.49hrwsummatusmentis: not yet
15:52.07summatusmentisany general ideas?
15:52.23hrwMarch probably
15:52.37summatusmentisooh, soon-ish
15:52.54hrwor rather 'not before March'
15:53.51summatusmentisok, the reason I ask is because I'm planning on working on a 2.6 SD driver for collie, with the hopes of it being included in Angstrom support
15:54.27hrwcool
15:54.57summatusmentisI probably won't be able to start until Feb. when I've got less classes
15:55.34hrwstudying?
15:55.57summatusmentisyeah, I'm in High School, 3 AP classes, and others on top
15:56.10summatusmentisnext semester it'll just be the 3 AP classes
15:56.37hrwhow old you arE?

15:57.08hrwI'm 30.5
15:57.21summatusmentishow long have you been coding?
15:57.40hrwhalf of life?
15:57.45rustreI found OZ rather nice, but (no hard feelings please) not as neat and "stable" as cacko in my opinion
15:57.51Webo30 in high school? :S
15:57.55rustreon the other hand, cacko is only running 2.4 kernel
15:58.01Weboyou've gave up and started again?
15:58.12summatusmentishrw, since you were 15-16?
15:58.14rustreWebo : hrw is 30, summatusmentis is in high school ;)

16:00.45Webotrust me, its fat
16:00.56summatusmentisthis is cacko doing that?

17:42.26summatusmentisis it possible to encrypt the HD on the Z?
17:42.43mimecarI don't know
17:43.01mimecaron linux you can use truecrypt,
17:43.14summatusmentishrm... it can be done w/ linux, so presumably it'd be doable....
17:43.16mimecarkernel source + source code = mount encrypted system
17:43.20mimecaryes
17:43.44summatusmentisso it'd require a special OZ kernel
17:44.06summatusmentisand the kernel is stored in the flash on the C3x00 models right?
17:50.16mimecaris not a special kernel
17:50.24mimecaris the usual kernel with a module compiled
17:52.26summatusmentisok, but it would need to be recompiled right? or can you just make an add-in module?
17:52.39mimecaryou must recompile
17:52.48mimecaralways this program can run on zaurus
17:52.53mimecarwithout extra elements
17:56.55summatusmentisI'm sorry, can you rephrase that?
17:58.33mimecaryes
17:58.45mimecarTruecrypt must be compiled as a kernel module
17:59.03mimecaryou need, the kernel source and some programs, such as gcc
17:59.17mimecarif you have both elements, you compile a kernel module
17:59.35mimecarloading the kernel module, you can use encrypt file systems
17:59.44mimecarbetter ?
18:02.25summatusmentisok, yes
