00:32.17summatusmentisearHertz: I didn't know they made g cards...
00:32.28summatusmentisyou should be fine, as long as linux drivers are available

00:43.49summatusmentissure thing, it looks like there's work being done, but it's not there yet
00:44.12summatusmentisI think your best bet is definitely a b card, and ideally, not the symbol spectrum24
00:44.35earHertzI have an ambicomm that died. It lasted for years and worked well
00:44.37summatusmentisI've got it, and it works, but it calls it eth0, not wlan0, and won't do scanning, or anything that normal cards do
00:44.39earHertzso I'll get another
00:44.49summatusmentismmmm.... that's a good idea
00:45.00summatusmentissorry I can't be of more help
00:45.33zIzsummatusmentis: you have a spectrum working?
00:45.47zIzis it the la-4137 model?

00:57.01zIzsummatus|SL-3200: is your spectrum card the la-4137?
00:58.17summatus|SL-3200honestly, I don't know, symbol spectrum24, with light blue stickers on it
00:58.55summatus|SL-3200la-413<something>, the backing covers the last #
01:00.01zIzwhat version of OZ are you running and did you have to do anything special to make it work
01:00.18zIzive got one and i cant for the life of me make it fire up
01:00.37summatus|SL-3200zlz, 3.5.4.1, on  a 3200(lik you couldn't tell frome my nick)
01:00.57summatus|SL-3200nothing special, but its not seen as a wirelss card exactly...
01:01.14zIz:/
01:01.26zIzim fairly sure thats the version ive tried
01:01.38zIzi would be happy if it would just connect to the internet
01:01.49summatus|SL-3200it doesn't?
01:02.06zIznope, doesnt show up in ifconfig at all
01:02.09summatus|SL-3200do you have the orinoco drivers?
01:02.18zIzi think so
01:02.24zIzive tried quite a few things
01:02.32zIzis that what your using?
01:02.46zIzdo you need firmware files for it?
01:02.56summatus|SL-3200hmmm.... yeah, its an orinoco chippset... its all you can use
01:03.02summatus|SL-3200no, no firmware files
01:03.10zIzhrmmm
01:03.41zIzfrom memory last time i tried it (a month or two ago) it tried to use spectrum specific drivers
01:03.49zIzand failed complaining about firmware
01:04.26zIzi guess ill have another go tonight, remove all the sprectrm packages and try manually loading orinoco drivers
01:04.29summatus|SL-3200ot just worked for me, flashed, and plugged it in, and it worked
01:04.53zIz:/
01:05.18zIzim tempted to chuck it and get a netgear
01:06.23summatus|SL-3200reflash, and try again, thats what I7d do

01:14.55zIzat least in OZ i get useful error messages
