07:08.44cofeineSunshinein my webapp i'd like to secure all pages with security constraint
07:08.51cofeineSunshineexcept one login page
07:09.21cofeineSunshineis there any way to do the without putting all pages on /<my_context>/secure/pageX.jsp
07:09.40cofeineSunshinewhere login page would be in /<my_context>/login.jsp
07:10.03cofeineSunshinein this case i have to secure url-pattern like this: /secure/*
07:36.33jasonbUnfortunately, there is no way to configure individual exception cases to the wildcard mappings.. otherwise you could say "protect everything *except* the login page".
07:36.53jasonbIt's something that has been sorely missing from the Java servlet specification since the beginning.

15:23.05dvayanuhi
15:23.27bunnytrying to implement the "advanced" clustering from tomcat howto page
15:23.42dvayanuyou mean the tomcat-builtin clustering?
15:23.46bunnyhttp://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/cluster-howto.html
15:24.09bunnyI set "complex cluster configuration" example on 2 machines
15:24.20dvayanuoh, i dont use _this_ kind of clustering
15:24.29dvayanuto be truthful i do not belive in it either :-)
15:24.37bunny:)
15:24.47bunnycan you tell me soem example then

15:25.03dvayanuin front of 20 standalone tomcats
15:25.08dvayanuworks like charm
15:25.25bunnyye but when one dies...all sessions die also
15:25.36dvayanuthat depends on how you implement it
15:26.10bunnyclustering helps tomcats to took to eachother and to know the sessions
15:26.17dvayanui know
15:26.24dvayanubut what do you store in session
15:27.05bunnysession is connected with appropriate login to the system ... if new session ... new login and everything from the begining
15:27.25dvayanuand you can't store the login information in cookie because?
15:28.11bunnydont know :) our developers decided this
15:28.42bunnyI'm just trying to make 2 tomcats to work in cluster and communicate to eachother
15:29.01bunnyseems I'm missing something but what ...
15:29.33dvayanudont know
15:30.18bunnyread alot in internet... but cant find the answer... so I came here with the hope someone already did this
15:31.14dvayanutry the tomcat mailing list
15:31.25dvayanua lot of good people on it
15:31.36dvayanuusers@tomcat.apache.org i think

But can't i put the application data directly to a directory inside webapps a run the application that way? (I tried that but it complains that i haven't started the servlet)

15:52.49bunnywhat is the price of this book?

21:28.07pfnno, just new features

21:34.12dan__tWhy?
21:34.14dan__tJust curious
21:34.39pfnbecause the packages are often done in a half-ass manner that won't work if you need to do certain things
